CommArt Monthly Meetings
CommArt meetings begin at 11:45 am, when attendees pick up name tags, purchase menu sheets, and sign in. This first half hour before sitting down for the meeting and lunch gives us the opportunity to introduce ourselves to new attendees, chat with people we’ve already met, ask questions, and generally NETWORK.
At 12:15, all attendees are asked to take their seats and at this time the restaurant server silently notes each person’s selected meal choice circled on their purchased menu sheet. The meeting begins with brief a welcome followed by the commencement of the CommArt Round Robin introductions.
Each attendee is asked to tell the group who they are, what they or their company do, and at that time can quickly pass around any additional materials
that augment their introduction. Everyone is asked to keep their introductions brief, 1-1.5 minutes is a good rule of thumb.
The discussion or Special Program will begin at 1 pm, and it is understood that the meeting is officially over at 1:30 pm; even if the discussion is continuing past this time, it is fine for attendees to leave after this time if their schedule demands.
A reminder email is sent during the week prior to each monthly meeting, and it is suggested that each member place CommArt reminders several months
ahead on their calendars, for the second Tuesday of each month, to avoid inadvertant scheduling conflicts.
For professionals interested in networking with others in the Communication Arts Industry, the Communication Arts Network (CommArt), hosts monthly luncheon meetings.
